The Catacomb above no 139, being closed with morter and not registered as containing a body, was this day opened in the presence of the vicar, Church Wardens, The Mayor (Hawley Parker esq), The city Coroner, The Medical Officer (Dr Hill), The City Surveyor Mr Sam Timmins, The Representatives of the local Press, and many others and found to contain the coffin and body of John Baskerville. On the end of the coffin was written in chalk - Died 1775, removed 1829. The remains having being identified, the coffin was soldered down and replaced in the Catacomb and the catacomb closed up with Brickwork
